James Francis Violet

James Francis Violet, age 85 of Jacksboro passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. James was a member of Glade Springs Baptist Church. He loved gardening, flowers and his family was his life. He was a navy veteran of World War II.

Preceded in death by Wife: Rosa Halstead Violet. Parents: Matthew and Sallie Dickerson Violet. Brothers: Robert and Frank Violet. Sisters: Georgia Hawkins, Grace Baird and Mae Wilson.

Survived by Wife: Mable Jean Violet of Jacksboro. Son and Daughter in Law: Doug and Melody Compton of Lafollette. Grandchildren: Travis, Mason and Ragan of Lafollette. Sister in Law: Vaughn Violet of Lake City. 4 Brothers in Law and 6 Sisters in Law. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in Martin Wilson Chapel. Interment will be 11 AM Wednesday in Baird Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday night before funeral service.
