J.C. Nelson

J.C. Nelson, age 87, of LaFollette passed away on Monday, November 3rd, 2014. He was a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church. He was a very loving husband of 49 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed farming and working outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Washington & Cecilia (Hudson) Nelson; wife Mary Josephine (Housley) Nelson; brothers Emmette, Frank, Merl, Lee, and Horace Nelson; and sisters Tennessee Russell, Deli Nelson, and Irene Nelson.

He is survived by his sons Gary Nelson & wife Ramona of Huntingdon, Larry Nelson & wife Frankie of LaFollette, Ernie Nelson & wife Janie of LaFollette, and Ricky Nelson of White Oak; daughters Janice Slover & husband Larry, Janie McCullah & husband Ronnie, and Barbara Marlow & husband Wayne all of LaFollette; brother Howard Nelson; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 6th, 2014 in the Martin Wilson chapel with the funeral service to follow with Rev. David Goins & Rev. Randy Lowe officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 am on Friday, November 7th, 2014 at Bakers Forge Cemetery.
