Jerry Wayne Hayes

Jerry Wayne Hayes, age 76, of Jacksboro passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Jerry loved going to church at West Walden Church of God. He also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and playing with his dogs, Nova and Dallas.

Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Tessa Lynn Hayes, parents, Barton and Meldia Hayes; and brother, James Hayes.

He is survived by his son, Chris Bailey and fiancé Ann of Jacksboro; his daughter Melissa Smith and husband, Curtis Smith of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Carlie Jessie and fiancé Shane, and Carson Bailey; sisters, Linda Zehr and husband John, and Norma Cook; ex son-in-law, Brian Jessie, sister-in-law Janice Bailey and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jay Walden and Rev. James Adkins officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Friday July 17, 2026, at 9:15 AM to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 AM interment.
