Jess Taylor Sr.

Jess Taylor Sr., age 77 of LaFollette, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Turkey Creek Medical Center. He was born on August 26, 1944 to the late John and Cinda (Saylor) Taylor. Jess was of the Pentecostal faith that enjoyed painting, spending time with his family, especially his grandson and his sister Ella. He also enjoyed watching TV, sitting on the porch talking to his friends, and going to yard sales.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Lorraine Taylor; brothers Kenneth Taylor, Ed Taylor, Luke Taylor, Lonnie Taylor, and Lester Taylor; and sister Sue Smith.

He is survived by his sons David Wayne Taylor and wife Jane of LaFollette and Jess Taylor Jr.  and wife Mary Ann of Michigan; special grandson Justin Hatfield; sister Ella Nolan of LaFollette; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, November 1, 2021, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7:00 PM with Rev. Josh Shoupes officiating.  The family will meet at 10:15 AM on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Bakers Forge Cemetery for 11:00 AM interment.
