Jim Overton

Jim Overton, age 87, of Jacksboro passed away on Saturday September 17, 2016. He was a member of West Elkton Baptist Church. Heaven gained another angel and his wife Juanita lost the love of her life, a very loving husband of 67 years, he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jim was in the military during the Korean war for 2 tours of duty.

Preceded in death by parents Reese Brummet and Pernie Ethel Davis Overton, infant son Michael James, brother Carl Overton, sisters Jewell Marlow and Amy Douglas.

Survived by wife Mary Juanita Overton of Jacksboro, daughters Deborah Hollon of Jacksboro and Marian Denise Weidle of Duncan SC, brother Hugh Overton of Ohio, grandchildren Rebecca Michelle Simpson and husband Joseph, Jessica Renee Weidle, great grandchildren Bryant and Brianna Weidle, Luke and Corynn Simpson, several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday September 21, 2016 in the chapel of Martin Wilson funeral home, funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Thursday September 22, 2016 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Douglas cemetery with the American Legion in charge of graveside service.
