Joe Wayne Cotton

Joe Wayne Cotton age 57 of Jacksboro passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Campbell Co. He was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Joe was good to everyone. He had a lot of friends, and loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and was a brother to all his nephews.

Preceded in death by Parents: Milford and Lillian Gibson Cotton. Brother: Tony Cotton. Sister: Sharon Slover.

Survived by Wife: Cheryl Cotton of Jacksboro. Son: Billy Joe Cotton of South Carolina. Daughter and Son in Law: Elizabeth and Jeffrey Artz of Speedwell. Daughters: Michelle Murray of Jacksboro. Tracy Cotton of South Carolina, Heather Sims of South Carolina, and Meribeth Cotton of Jacksboro. 8 Grandchildren. Brother and Sister in Law: Donald and Shirley Cotton of GA. Brothers in Law and Sisters in Law: Eddie and Mona Bruce, Danny and Vickie Bruce, Claude and Sharon Bruce, Johnny and Diane Bruce, Jim and Tommy Whitthorn. Sisters and Brothers in Law: Sally and Tommy Davidson of Oneida, TN. Diana and Earnest Ward of Jacksboro. Barbara and Don Lamb of Columbus, IN. Sisters: Brenda Cotton of Caryville. Treasa Metcalf of South Carolina. Jeannie Dooley of LaFollette. Sister in Law and Brother in Law: Glenna Burris and Johnny Ball. Special Nephew: Jeff Cotton and Wife: Regina of Lake City. Several Nieces, Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Tuesday, May 19 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Bill Braden officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Wednesday in Cotton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday night before funeral service.
