John Henry Carter, age 92 of Jacksboro, departed this life on Monday, February 27, 2023. He was born March 16, 1930, in Imboden, Arkansas to the late John Eaker and Florence Adams Carter. John was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He loved boating, fishing, being outdoors, mowing, doing construction projects, and working with his hands. John was a member of the United Auto Workers Union for over 60 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Marie Carter; son, Jeff Carter; brother, Joe Carter; sisters, Jennie Schultz, Darlene Miller, and Aqualla Walton.
John is survived by his son, Chris Carter of Byron, Michigan; daughter, Laurie Carter of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Shannyn, Jenna, John, Christopher, and Danielle, great granddaughter, Evie; several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 7, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church from 10 AM to 11 AM with Memorial Mass to follow from 11 AM to 12 PM.
