Kathryn Jane Riffey

Kathryn Jane Monroe Riffey, age 74 of Green Haven, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  She was a Baptist Christian woman who was embraced by angels and the Lord on the stormy night of November 18, 2017.  She lived in Baltimore, Maryland where she worked and raised her children before moving to LaFollette, Tennessee to retire.  Kathryn worked hard her entire life in a sewing factory and later for over 25 years as a Certified Nursing Assistance who loved helping other people.  She always helped and thought of other before herself.

She was preceded in death by parents Ruby Virginia (Leary) and Pearl Dorsey Monroe; her brothers Robert (Bud) Monroe, Frank Monroe, Kennith Monroe, and Ernest Monroe; sister Emma Jean (Monroe) Soboleski; and former husbands Joseph Peter Kramp and Robert Ernest Riffey, Sr.

She was the beloved mother to her daughter Della Marie (Kramp Hagan) Finch and husband (Gary Simpson Finch) and her daughter Christel Lee (Riffey Hickman) Bridges and husband (Dennie Ray Bridges).  She was a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren:  Gregory (Scott) Hagan, Jr., Alicia (Hagan) Smith, Christina Riffey, and Mary Hickman; and leaves her precious great granddaughter Addison Davis.

Kathryn's family would like to extend the gratitude to their mother's home health nurses Tammy King, Loretta Henegar, and therapist Cyndi Ford for their attentiveness and loving care.  She will be mourned and sorely miss by all who came into her life.

A celebration of her life will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home.  The service will be at 10:30 AM with Pastor Billy Smith officiating followed by interment at Glade Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to local charities for indigent families in memory of Kathryn Riffey.
