Leora Brantley

Leora Brantley, age 95 of LaFollette passed away at her home. Mrs. Brantley was a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother and grandmother that went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2008. Her family was her life. Leora was very active in her church and enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Preceded in death by Husband: Raymond C. Brantley. Son: Ralph Brantley. Parents: Preston and Paralie Johnson Sweat. Brother: Clayton Sweat. Sisters: Georgia Carter, Vonnie Beavers, and Hazel Thomas.

Survived by Son and Daughter in Law: David Lee and Carol Brantley of FL. Daughters: Dorothy Rogers of LaFollette. Jewell McNeely and Betty Jo Miller both of Knoxville. Daughter and Son in Law: Elenore and John Pappas of Illinois. 10 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Brother: Albert Sweat of Michigan. Sister: Catonia Simmons of Michigan. Special niece: Gwen Welch. Special nephew: Terry Sweat. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 3 PM Saturday, June 21, 2008 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. David Partin officiating. Interment will follow in Fincastle Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Saturday before funeral service.
