Lois Yvonne Rains

Lois Yvonne Rains, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024 in Canton, Michigan, at the age of 89. She was born on June 9, 1935 in Tennessee, the daughter of Mecie (Ayers) and Delmas Wilson.

Lois married the love of her life, Carl W. Rains, November 17, 1951 in La Follette, Tennessee. Carl preceded her in death on September 14, 2008 after 57 loving years of marriage.

Carl and Lois traveled to Detroit, Michigan shortly after they wed, where they later made their home in Ypsilanti.

Lois is survived by her children, Deborah (Dennis) LaFever, Sherry (Sam) Moody, and Anthony (Denise) Rains; grandchildren Tim (Stephanie) LaFever, Jon (Heidi) LaFever, Nathan LaFever, Melissa (Brian) Schussler, Amanda (Dennis) Barrett, Josh (Haley) Rains, and Katelyn Rains (Kevin Grahl); 10 great-grandchildren. Brothers Ronnie (Brenda) and Jimmy Wilson; sister Sandra Kitts, and sister-in-law Jan Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her parents Mecie (Ayers) and Delmas Wilson; and brothers JR, Kenneth (Nina), Ray, and Ernest Wilson.

Visitation will be on Friday November 22, 2024 from 12 PM to 1 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Graveside service to follow at Sunrise Cemetery.
