Lois Welch Farmer Richardson age 87 of LaFollette, TN went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 25, 2011. She was born on July 25, 1923. Her family will sadly miss her but rejoices with her because they know she is with her Savior and loved ones gone before. She loved her family and her church family. Her joy in life in the last few months has been her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and was a wonderful seamstress. She was a member of First Independent Baptist Church. She was the first woman to serve on the LaFollette City Council in 1978. She was known for her witty sayings and stories her children and grandchildren will always cherish.
She was preceded in death by her father Dallard Welch, mother Florence Withrow Welch, brother J.D. Welch, nephew Dennis Welch, first husband of 33 years Damon Farmer, and second husband of 30 years Walter Richardson.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Farmer Thompson and Sarah Farmer Cline and husband Dr. E.G. Cline, stepchildren Kathy Richardson Heatherly and husband Chuck Heatherly and Kenny Richardson, grandchildren Tracy Cline Wright, Christopher Thompson, Michael Jason Carson, Damon Patrick Thompson, Allison Carson Willoughby, Thomas Matthew Cline, Lindsay Thompson Motz, Karen Richardson, Trinity K. Heatherly, Tiffany Heatherly Russell, 12 great grandchildren, sister Wilma Andrews of Lawrenceville, GA, brother Harold Welch and wife Madge of LaFollette, TN, special nieces Florence Greeson and Betty Little of Lawrenceville, GA, several other nieces and nephews, and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the Martin Wilson chapel with Rev. Lynn Ray officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the Martin Wilson chapel. Pallbearers are grandsons Chris Thompson, Jason Carson, Patrick Thompson, Matthew Cline, Harley Willoughby, Trevor Motz and great grandchildren Austin Tindell and Carson Willoughby. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Bostic, Ray Powell, Jerry Carson, Jim Little, and Jim Lively.
