Mary Helen Byrd

Mary Helen Byrd, age 93, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Cumberland Village Center. Mary was born on March 4, 1930, the eldest of 9 children. Mary was a hard worker who was dedicated to the support of her family. Mary was a Christian and attended Davis Chapel Community Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents Avery and Ethel Mae Byrd; sisters Ruby Cook, Lois Byrge, Betty Farmer, and Peggy Kitts; brother Jimmy Byrd.

Mary is survived by her sisters JoAnn Clapp of Massachusetts, Jewell Gross of LaFollette, and Linda Hill of Powell; special niece Karen McGuire of LaFollette; and a host of other family and friends.

Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2023 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Sampson Ridenour officiating.  Family and friends will meet on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 1:15 PM to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial for an  2:00 PM interment.
