Mary Katherine Claiborne

Mary Katherine Claiborne was born on May 9, 1932 to Samuel and Marjorie Allen. She was a graduate of LaFollette Colored High. She was a faithful member of The 7th Day Adventist Church of LaFollette. In 1952 she married Henry Oby Claiborne. They were married for 57 years until the time of his passing. In 1963 she entered the nursing school program to become a LPN.

She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Claiborne, parents Samuel and Marjorie Allen, sons Darryl and Tony Claiborne, brother Tommy Jerome Allen, sister Audrey Serles, and grandmother Maggie McClellan.

She leaves to cherish her memory and love her sons Bryan and David Claiborne of Jacksboro, daughter Marilyn Claiborne of Knoxville, TN, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren sister Virginia Goins of Nashville, TN, brother Ronald Allen and wife Nancy of Knoxville, TN, a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral service will be 12 noon on Sunday July 31, 2011 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Kevin Doe officiating. Interment will follow in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 10 until 12 before funeral service.
