Mary Linda (Bailey) King

Mary Linda Bailey King, age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 7, 2025.  She was a longtime member of Midway Baptist Church. Mary was affectionately known as Aunt Murnie to all who loved her. Even though she didn't have children of her own, she loved, cared, and cooked for many children. She loved taking care of children, cooking for others and singing.  Mary worked for 20 years at LaFollette Hospital as an unit secretary and then continued working at Wee Care Child Center until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne King; father, Thomas Bailey and stepmother Edna Brooks Bailey; mother, Frances Wilburn Jordan and stepfather, Conday Jordan; sister, Callie Wormsley; nephews, Duran Stanfield and Aaron Jordan; mother-in-law Ruth King; brother-in-laws, Jack Hirstein and David Smith.

Mary is survived by her siblings, Wanda Bailey Hirstein of Florida, Tommie Sue Elkins and husband David of Jacksboro, Delores Marlow and husband Danny of LaFollette, Connie Jordan Smith of LaFollette, Peggy Jones of LaFollette, Steve Jordan and Susie Ellison of LaFollette; special nephew, Dustin Stanfield and wife Whitney of Jacksboro, special niece, Davena Burris and husband Travis of Jacksboro; brother in laws David Wormsley, Kenneth King and Jimmy King and wife Denise; special family "her baby" Johnny Dabney and wife Teresa and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Midway Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Johnny Dabney officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Powell Valley Cemetery for an 1:00 PM interment.
