Mary Elizabeth Walden

Elizabeth Walden, age 89, of Jacksboro passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015.She was a member of the High Knob Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved listening to gospel music and working puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Walden; son Hugh Walden Jr., daughter Louise Cantrell; parents Roscoe Wallace and Leona Brown; 2 grandsons Terry and David Russell. Step daughter Norene Brill.

She is survived by her sons, Ed and Judy Walden, Wayne and Tammy Walden of LaFollette; and daughters, Sarah and J.B. Monday of Jacksboro; Shirley Russell of Jacksboro; Wilma Hammond of LaFollette; and Sandra and Howard Chapman of Jacksboro; step daughter Wanda and Herb Strevel of Virginia; brother Donnie Brown of LaFollette; sisters Gladys Green of Jacksboro; Ruby Norman of LaFollette; 22 grandchildren, 44 great- grandchildren and 15, great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 2, with Rev. Tommy Gillum and Rev. Doug Walden officiating. Interment will follow the service at Flat Hollow Cemetery.
