Maude Estella Lawson Ayers age 83 of LaFollette passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born November 8, 1924. She was a member of Grantsboro Baptist Church. Mrs. Ayers was a very loving wife, mother, and sister. She enjoyed quilting and taught school during WW II at Demory Elementary School. She loved to travel.

Preceded in death by Parents: Thomas and Ollie Sharp Lawson. Brothers: James Haggard "Bud" Lawson, Otis Monroe "Tim" Lawson. Sisters: Susie Bell Carter, Edna Mary Albright, Bessie Sharp, Billie Rose "Betty" Lawson and Infant Sister: Betty Lou Lawson. Father and Mother in Law: Steve and Mary Walden Ayers. Brother in Law: McKinley C. Ayers.

Survived by Husband of 56 years: Steve Glenn Ayers. Daughter: Jane Ayers both of LaFollette. Brother and Wife: Sterling Andrew and Josie Lawson of LaFollette. Twin Sister: Myrtle Novella and Husband: James G. Miller of Rockwood. Sister: Guina Lee Carmany of LaFollette. Step Sister: Lillie Mae Sharp of LaFollette.
Several Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.

Funeral Service will be 2 PM Thursday, June 26 at Grantsboro Baptist Church with Rev. David Goins and Jerry Dagley officiating. Interment will follow in Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday night in Martin Wilson Chapel.
