Mercedes Ward

Mercedes Angela Ward age 102 of Caryville, TN passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011. She was born on July 18, 1908. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother that enjoyed her family very much. She never met a stranger and was very quiet but very strong. She cared more for others that she did herself. Mercedes was a Sunday school teacher for many years at First Christian Church in Seattle, WA. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Bob and Lewis Parker and husband Alexander Ward.

She is survived by her son Frederick Ward of Seattle, WA, Judith Ward Richardson and husband Clyde Richardson of Caryville, TN, several nieces and nephews in Kansas, as well as 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the Martin Wilson chapel with Rev. Bill Floyd officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in the Turley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the Martin Wilson chapel.
