Mildred Louise Massengill

Mildred Louise Massengill age 69 of Caryville went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She attended New Beginning Baptist Church and Temple of Christ Baptist Church. Mrs. Massengill enjoyed singing, sewing, crafts, scrapbooking, gardening, and loved her grandchildren, family, and friends very much. She never met a stranger.

Preceded in death by Husband: Rev. Albert Massengill Sr. Parents: Ernest and Ruby Rutherford. Sisters: Wanda and Novella Rutherford.

Survived by Sons and Daughters in Law: Rev. J.D. and Peggy Massengill of Northwood, OH. David and Penny Massengill of Goshen, IN. Gary and Karen Massengill of Oliver Springs. Albert Jr. and Kim Massengill of Heiskell, Tn Son: Joe Massengill of Clinton. Daughter: Betty Scarborough of Caryville, Daughters and Sons in Law: Carolyn Sue and Jason Hatmaker of Clinton, Joyce Ann and Robert Martin of Caryville. 25 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters in Law: Arnold TJ and Doris Rutherford of Habersham, Harold and Mary Rutherford of Habersham. Sister: Brenda Hamilton of Caryville. Several Nieces, Nephews and a host of Relatives and Friends.

Funeral service will be 1 PM Tuesday, November 16 at New Beginning Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Jobe, Rev. Al Turpin, and Rev. J.D. Massengill officiating. Mrs. Massengill will lie in state from 12 until 1 PM before funeral service. Interment will follow in Ridgeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday night in Martin Wilson Chapel.
