Myrtle Louise Scott Redus was born March 2, 1915 in Idabel, Oklahoma; McCurtain County. She graduated from High school in Idabel, Oklahoma in 1931 and graduated from nursing school at Parkland Hospital Nursing School in Dallas, TX in 1934 with a Registered Nursing Degree. She married John Cleveland Redus on December 25, 1935 at Gaston Ave. Baptist Church in Dallas TX.; he passed on April 7, 1987. Myrtle was a member of the First Christian Church of Katy, Texas, where she was an Elder Emeritus. She was a member of the United Daughters of the American Revelation; The Love Chapter. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy; Edwin Waller Chapter.

Preceded in death by her parents Iva Myrtle Calahan and John Morgan Scott; grandchildren Jerome Lee Kelly and Harold Wayne Kelly; Brother John Harral and wife Gwendolyn Scott.

She is survived by son John Cleveland and wife Dana Kelly Redus Jr.; daughter Frances Ann (Redus) and husband David C. Miller; Sister Frances Elizabeth Scott Greene of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren Anna Elizabeth Kelly, Katherine Miller and husband Nathan Woodand, and Elizabeth Paige Miller; great granddaughter Mckenzie Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
