Nawawsa " Tootsie" Falvo, age 92 of Roderfield, West Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 5, 2017.
Born June 17, 1924, in Iroquios, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Cora Meadows.
She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Rex Falvo, a daughter Lois Jean Falvo Robertson, a son-in-law Joe Elswick Jr., brothers Mack Meadows and Clifton Meadows, sisters Lois Meadows, Alma Thornton, and Gloria Payne.
Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Elswick of LaFollette, TN, one granddaughter Toni Guella and husband Michael of Premier, WV, two grandsons, Bobby Joe Elswick and wife Terri of LaFollette, TN, and Alan Elswick of Princeton, WV, one great granddaughter, Kellie Jo Blankenship and husband Brian of Welch, WV, one special great-great grandson, Brayden Blankenship of Welch, WV, one sister Charlotte Johnson and husband Gene of Amigo, WV, and several nieces,nephews, and cousins
Tootsie had been a resident of Roderfield for the past 70 years. She was always active in the community throughout the years with many different organizations. She helped found the Roderfield Volunteer Fire Department and served as the President since 1970. She was also the President of the Roderfield's Woman Club. She was the owner of Falvo's Fabrics in the late 70's and Tootsie's Snack Bar in the early 80's before she retired. She was a member of the Roderfield United Methodist Church for the past 70 years and the North Welch First Church of God for the past year.
Tootsie never met a stranger, she had a heart of gold and was always there to help anyone in need. She will truly be missed by her loving family, abundance of friends and her community.
Funeral Services will be conducted, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11 A.M. from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, WV with Pastor Scott Long officiating, Burial will follow at Iaeger Memorial Cemetery in Roderfield WV. Friends may call Monday, January 9, 2017 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, WV. Members of the Roderfield Volunteer Fire Department and Butch Guella will serve as pallbearers.
