Nelda Orick

Nelda Christine Glass Orick, 80, of Salem, VA passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011. She was born May 12, 1931 in Salem, VA daughter of the late Charles and Mary Harmon Glass. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bill Orick; and brothers, Kenneth, Billy, Nelson and Harrison Glass. Mrs. Orick was a homemaker and formerly attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was active in the Shriners Ladies Auxiliary with her husband. She is survived by her sons, William "Lucky" Gray, Jr. and wife, Donna, John Gray and fiancée, Teresa Mize and Roy Gray and wife, Kathy; daughters, Jean Dillman and husband, Wayne and Elizabeth Testerman and husband, Jeff; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; special great-aunt, Mildred Glass; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with her grandson, Rev. Michael Gray officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 to 8 pm at the John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Richfield four west and three west floors for their loving care given to mom. The family will also receive friends from 10 am to 12 noon Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home in LaFollette, TN with graveside services to follow at Powell Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens in LaFollette, TN.
