Paul Herron

October 12, 1921 — December 20, 2013

Paul Herron age 92 of Jacksboro passed away on Friday December 20, 2013. Mr. Herron who served with the 45th Infantry and participated in the invasion of Anzio Beach, was presented with the following medals WWII Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Honorable Service Medal and European/African/Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. He was a Deacon for 25 years at Indian Mount Baptist Church. He enjoyed his Church, Hardees, visiting his friends at the Community Trust Bank and working outside, he loved his family very much.

Preceded in death by parents Jack and Cindy Parks Herron, brothers Clyde, Wade, Fred and Frank Herron, sisters Martha Ward, Ethel and Mary Pilkey.

Survived by wife Wanda Herron of Jacksboro, son David Herron and wife Teresa of Jacksboro, daughters Sharon McAfee and husband Mike of Jacksboro, Kathy Mosca and husband John of Andersonville, Carol Hope of Knoxville and Sandi Hope of Mt Juliet, brothers Robert Herron of Aiken SC, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends 12-2 pm Monday December 23, 2013 at Indian Mount Baptist Church with funeral service to follow with Rev. Charlie Wilson and Rev. Fred Stagnolia officiating. Interment will be in Campbell Memorial Gardens with Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of graveside service.
