Peter Roger Dewitt

Peter Dewitt, age 72, of Jacksboro departed this life on Monday, July 1, 2015 at LaFollette Medical Center. He was a devoted Ham Operator, retired Senior Chief Petty Officer in the Navy after 21 years of service and volunteered for the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 20 years. He was a very loving husband of 35 years that enjoyed getting everybody together and cooking for them for the Holidays.

He was preceded in death by his parents Morris & Eleanor (Murdock) Dewitt.

He is survived by his wife Judy Dewitt of Jacksboro, son Jamie Dewitt of Windsor, VA, Lorie Jarvis of LaFollette, sister Grace Martino Strid of Norfolk, VA, 2 grandchildren and a host of loving family & friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Kenny Allen officiating. Interment will be at 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Veteran's Cemetery in Knoxville.
