Raymond Howard Carroll

Raymond Carroll age 70 of Lafollette went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 7, 2010. He was of the Baptist Faith and attended the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Raymond loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted father and grandfather and a loving and faithful husband to Wanda, his wife of 50 years. Raymond was an avid hunter, camper, and golfer and spent most of his life helping and serving others. He retired from the Lafollette Fire Department as a Lieutenant. During his long and distinguished career he also served as Head of Hazmat of Campbell County, was a lifetime member of Lafollette Rescue Squad and served as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Campbell County Ambulance Service.

Raymond is preceded in death by Father and Mother: Walter Roscoe and Myrtle Benge Carroll. One daughter and one grandson. Mother and Father in Law: Albert and Pearlie Young.

Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years: Wanda Young Carroll. Sons: Terry Carroll and wife Karen, Scott Carroll and Shaun England all of Lafollette. Daughters: Connie Berry and husband Leroy, Raylean Raynor and husband Johnny and Sandra Carroll all of Lafollette. 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Brothers: Wayne Carroll and wife Jutta of Ogden, KS, Bill Carroll of Wilmington, Ohio, Ed Carroll of Woodstock, IL, Bob Carroll and wife Sandra of Caryville, TN. Special caregiver helper Gregory Wilson. Raymond also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will greatly miss him.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Harry James and Rev. Leroy Braden officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Wednesday in Powell Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday night before funeral service.
