Raymond Cooper

Raymond Cooper, 85, of LaFollette passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 following an extended illness. He was a very loving husband of 66 years, a loving father, grandfather and great-great grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family and friends "never meeting a stranger." Raymond was a passionate outdoors person that enjoyed gardening and working with wood. He was a member of Grantsboro Baptist Church and a life-long member of the Grantsboro community.

Preceded in death by parents W. P. and Margaret Grant Cooper; brothers Kermit, Clifford, James, Vaughn, Roscoe and Billy Cooper; sisters Phyllis Landrum, Delsie Fay Dagley, and twin sister Ruth Cook.

Survived by his loving wife Margaret "Peggy" Cooper of LaFollette; sons David S. Cooper and wife Rose of TN and Dale Alan Cooper and wife Charley of Knoxville, TN; daughter Donna Kavanaugh and husband Russell of Huntington Beach, CA; brother Donald R. Cooper and wife Bernice of LaFollette; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Martin Wilson Chapel. Funeral service will be 12 noon Friday, November 22, 2013 in Grantsboro Baptist Church with Rev. David Goins officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Grantsboro Cemetery.
