Robert Allen

Robert Allen, age 82, of Jacksboro passed away on Thursday, August 29th, 2013. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. He was a very loving husband of 60 years, father, and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved gardening and spending time in the outdoors. He was a decorated Marine from the Korean War and a survivor of the Frozen Chosin Battle. He was a member of the Stooksbury Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willis Edgar & Bertha (Malicoat) Allen; infant brothers Earl & Junior Allen; and sister Kathleen Chapman.

He is survived by his wife Ann Allen of Jacksboro; son Robert E. Allen of Jacksboro; daughters Barbara Lapole & husband Steve and Karen Allen all of Jacksboro; sister Lousetta Cooper of Caryville; grandchildren Amy LaPole, Angela Daugherty, Amanda Davis, Josh Dozier, and Katelyn Dozier; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31st, 2013 from 6:00 - 7:45 pm at Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Masonic service will follow the visitation at 7:45 with funeral service following at 8:00 pm with Rev. Johnny Dabney and Rev. Bobby Raye Wilson officiating. Interment will be on Sunday, September 1st, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Jacksboro Cemetery with the Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of the graveside services.
