Roxie (Hill) Johnson

Roxie Hill Johnson, age 96 of LaFollette passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the owner of H&R Block in LaFollette for 32 years. She also was a supervisor at Imperial Reading, and a substitute teacher. Roxie also taught Sunday School at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church along with many life-lessons to her children.

She dedicated her life to God and her family. She was such a talented and a gifted person, always hard working in anything she began. She enjoyed crocheting, acrylic painting, adult coloring, cooking, sewing, ceramics, gardening, reading her Bible, and just enjoying the great outdoors. We all enjoyed her front porch talks. A thousand more things we could say, but to sum it up she was just a great mother and friend to all.

Roxie is preceded in death by her parents William (Billy) Hill and Rushia White Hill; loving husband Johnnie S. Johnson; son Ted D. Johnson; brothers James T. Hill and Elmer Hill; and sister Ada Mae Hill.

She is survived by her sons Bruce Johnson, Randall Johnson, and John Johnson and wife Rhonda Cole Johnson all of LaFollette; daughters Brenda Johnson and Nancy Johnson Smith and husband Richard Smith all of LaFollette; daughter in law Wanda Brantley Johnson of LaFollette;  brothers Rev. O.D. Hill and Robert Dan Hill both of LaFollette; grandchildren Scott Johnson, Daniel Smith and wife Lori, Jeff Johnson and wife Amanda, Michelle Johnson, Travis Johnson and wife Connie, and Tracy Cooper and husband Charlie; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Samson Ridenour officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 AM on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Pleasant Ridge Cemetery for a 10:00 AM interment.
