Sharkey Witt

Sharkey Witt age 92 of LaFollette passed away Wednesday December 23, 2009 at St Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.He was a member of the Church of God. Sharkey was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and going to church. He was an usher at church and also served as a member of the church council for a number of years. Sharkey loved to fish and work with his hands making things out of wood. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors especially gardening and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Garfield Witt and Sarah Witt Kelly, also by his first wife Mossie Huff Witt, a son Alvin Witt.

Survivors include his wife Mildred Witt of LaFollette; a son Darnell Witt and wife Carolyn of Louisville, KY; daughters Loretta Dean, Arbutus Stamper and husband Hugh and Brenda Cundiff and husband Darrell all of Louisville, KY; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandsons.

Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Saturday December 26, 2009 at LaFollette Church of God with Rev. Jeff Armstrong and Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating. Interment will take place at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, KY. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday December 26, 2009 at LaFollette Church of God.
