Tidwell Jeffers

Tidwell Jeffers, age 87, of LaFollette, TN passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also loved spending time in the mountains hunting with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Silas Jeffers, mother Florence Ettie Tidwell, wife Minnie Jeffers, son Bobby Ray Jeffers, brothers Silas Jeffers Jr., Costello Jeffers, Venice Anderson, and Silas Simon, sisters Evelene Jeffers, Lennie Jeffers, Lettie Jeffers, Mary Anderson, Martha Wilson, and Peggy Chapman.

He is survived by his son Jimmy Wayne Jeffers of LaFollette, daughters Betty Sue Prater & husband Robert of Knoxville and Judy Ann Alexander & husband John of Bluff City, TN, brother Leo Jeffers of LaFollette, sisters Irene Suttles of Sevierville, Glenice Muse of Jacksboro, Gladys Anderson of LaFollette, and Oma Jones of LaFollette, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev James Adkins officiating. Interment will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 in the Mill Branch Cemetery in Scott County. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
