Vance Irwin age 58 of Jacksboro passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Campbell Co. He was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church for 37 years where he was a deacon, trustee, and Sunday school teacher and served on the School board for 6 years. He enjoyed coaching junior pro basketball and watching the New York Yankees, and UT sports. Mr. Irwin loved his family very much especially spending time with his grandson Blake.
Preceded in death by Parents: Baxter and Verlin Irwin. Brothers: Leo, Eugene, and Kenneth Irwin. Sisters: Rosa Lee Irwin and Mildred Seiber.
Survived by Wife: Darlene Irwin of Jacksboro. Daughter: Missy Ivey and Husband: Steve of Jacksboro. Grandson: Blake Ivey of Jacksboro. Brother: Owen Irwin of LaFollette. Sisters: Virginia Smith of Jacksboro. Edith Irwin of Corbin, KY. And Dorothy Jardett of Knoxville. Several Nieces and Nephews and a host of Relatives and Friends.
Funeral service will be 8 PM Friday, May 7 in Martin Wilson with Rev. James Adkins, Rev. Thomas Adkins, and Rev. Bill Wilson officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Saturday in Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Friday night before funeral service.
