Wanda Ann (Bruce) Whaley

Wanda Ann Whaley, age 84, passed away on August 2, 2021 at The Widows Home of Dayton. She is survived by her children, Pamela Joan Morgan of Dayton, Ohio and Danny Royse Whaley, Jr. (Elly) of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Anita Beth Rigo (Christopher) of Richmond, Virginia, Michelle Ann Littell of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mark Anthony Whaley (Ashlee) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Emma Danielle Whaley of Omaha, Nebraska; her great grandchildren Trevor, Amelia & Judith Littell and Brendan, Carrissa & Cayden Whaley. She is also survived by her sisters Volena Brandenberg, Loretta Wells, Roberta Vinsant and Azalee Watson and her brother, Don Bruce, all of Lafollette, Tennessee..

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Edward and Rosie Lee Bruce (nee Walden), her twin sons, Mark Edward Whaley and Michael Wayne Whaley, her brothers, Bill Edward Bruce and Danny Clark Bruce, very close friend Elizabeth "Betsy" Turner and her granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Martin.

Wanda grew up a coal miner's daughter near Stinking Creek, Tennessee. She made her way north to Cincinnati, Ohio, to work as a waitress where she met her now deceased ex-husband, Danny Royse Whaley, Sr. They lived in Cincinnati until the early 1980s when they moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, to open a restaurant. Wanda remained in Clarksville after their separation and worked for and, eventually retired from, International Label as a quality control inspector. After the death of her close friend and bingo partner, Betsy Turner, Wanda returned to Cincinnati to spend her remaining years with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 9, 2021 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will then go in procession following the funeral service to Broyles Cemetery in Stinking Creek for her interment.
