Wayne Forrester Pettijohn, age 78, of Jacksboro passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. He was of the Episcopalian Faith. Mr. Pettijohn was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather that loved his family very much. He was very proud of his Air Force Career of more than 20 years, where he was part of the National Security Agency during the Cuban missile crisis. He retired as a engineer for Micro Switch, a division of Honeywell in Mars Hill. He was a graduate of Westlake High School, attended McNeese State University and received a M.B.A. from Western University in North Carolina. He was also a dedicated volunteer with Wounded Warrior Project,

and treasurer of the Kentucky Outdoor Press Association.
Preceded in death by Parents: Wayne and Delora Pettijohn. Brother: Alan "Buddy" Pettijohn. Brother in Law: Earl Walker. Sister and Brother in Law: Billie Jo and Jimmy Chisholm.
Survived by his Wife: Etta Pettijohn. Daughters: Sharon Gordon and Husband: Jack, of North Carolina and Carol Ownbey of Carrollton, TX. Grandchildren: Hannah Klotz, Christina Ownbey, Chloe Ownbey and Brandon Ownbey. Brother: Kenneth Pettijohn and Wife: Beverly, of West Lake, LA. Sister: Janice Walker of West Lake, LA. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and a host of Friends.
Memorial Service will be 12 PM Thursday, May 13, 2010 in Martin Wilson Chapel with the Campbell County Honor Guard and Rev. H. Lee Ray in charge of service. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 PM Thursday before service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Wayne Pettijohn.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
