Wilma Hammons

Wilma (Lyons) Rogers Hammons, age 77, of LaFollette passed away on Friday, June 6th, 2014 at home. She was of the Church of Christ faith. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister that enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, working in the community with the Restoration of Speedwell Academy, Homecoming 86, Speedwell Christmas Tree Lighting, and mother other community activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles & Helen Lyons and infant son David Rogers.

She is survived by her husband Elmer Hammons of LaFollette; son Steve Rogers & wife Tammy of LaFollette; daughter Melissa Rogers of Speedwell; brothers George Lyons and Charles Lyons, Jr. both of Tennessee; sisters Helen Schmitz and Ethel Auten both of Dayton, OH; and grandchildren John David Rogers and Coty Caldwell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, June 9th, 2014 in the Martin Wilson chapel with funeral service to follow with Chaplain David Roberts officiating. Interment with be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 10th, 2014 at Powell Valley Cemetery.
