Bill Edd Bruce

Bill Edd Bruce, age 74 of Jacksboro, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 20, 2020. He was born September 18, 1946 to the late Curtis Bruce and Rosie (Walden) Bruce. Bill was a member of Cumberland View Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and his great- granddaughter. Bill retired from the Campbell County school system and he also served on the Board of Directors for CORA.

In addition to his parents, Bill is also preceded in death by his brother Danny Bruce, infant brothers and sisters, and nieces Jamie O’Brien and Susan Fraley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Mary Ruth Bruce of Jacksboro; son Eddie Bruce of Jacksboro; grandchildren Jordan Bruce and wife Leslie of Jacksboro, and Abby Bruce of Jacksboro; great- granddaughter Tylee of Jacksboro; brother Don Bruce and wife Beverly of Jacksboro; sisters Volena Brandenburg of Stinking Creek, Loretta Wells of LaFollette, Wanda Whaley of Cincinnati, OH, Roberta Vinsant of Jacksboro, and Azalee Watson and husband Ray of Jacksboro; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with funeral services to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson and Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating. Family and friends will meet at Martin Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23 at 12:15 PM to go in funeral procession to Cumberland View Cemetery for a 1:00 PM internment.
