Carol Stapleton Troutman passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023 surrounded by her family. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 6, 1936, she grew up in Fountain City, graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Tennessee where she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. In 1958, she married Andrew (Andy) Davis Troutman. They lived in Clinton, Knoxville and settled in LaFollette where they raised their two sons.
Carol was gifted with many talents. She was an accomplished real estate broker with LaFollette Real Estate and Fields Real Estate at Deerfield Resort. She was a licensed private pilot and an avid golfer. She played regularly at LaFollette Golf and Country Club and Holston Hills Country Club. Throughout her life, she enjoyed attending the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and performances at the Tennessee Theatre. Her creative talents were shown through her love of gardening, floral arranging, china painting and playing in her church handbell choir.
Carol was a longtime member of LaFollette Methodist Church and the LaFollette Town and Country Garden Club. Most of all, “Mee Mee Carol” cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren and always brought her family together around her dining room table. She created a beautiful home and special memories for her family and many friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Andy Troutman and her mother, Willie Mae Pratt. She is survived by her sons, Craig Troutman (Marty), Jeff Troutman (Missy), her grandchildren Carlton, Andrew, Shea and Parker Troutman and her sister, Martha Jarvis Cannon.
The family will celebrate Carol’s life on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. at LaFollette Methodist Church with a receiving of friends to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Carol will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
