Edward "Ed" Leach

Edward “Ed” Leach, age 85 of LaFollette, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 after fighting a 3 year battle with cancer. Ed was of the Baptist faith. He was born February 10, 1935 in Duff to the late Steeley and Mossie Ellison Leach. Ed retired from the State of Tennessee Tourism Division.  He was a U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Veteran. Ed enjoyed sitting on his front porch, gardening, and he had a green thumb for flowers, especially his roses.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, John, Carl, and Lindsay Leach; sisters, Pearl Giles, Billie Joe King, Ada Kirkland, and Ethel Bailey

Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorene Leach; son, Gary Wayne Leach of Knoxville; daughter, Cheryl Ann Cox and husband James of Topeka, Kansas; grandchildren, Tara Leach and Daniel Overton and Jamie Bunch and husband, Aaron; great grandchildren, Hunter, Ansley, Danni, Morgan, Dylan, Macy, and Levi; brothers, Jerry Leach and wife Lisa of Georgia, Larry Leach of Jacksboro, and James Leach and wife Jewell of LaFollette ; sisters, Peggy Goins and husband J.D of Williamsburg and Alma Pack of Jacksboro, his good friends, Randy, Jim and Bob; also a host of other friends and relatives.

Ed was also blessed with physician’s Saji Eapen and Tiffney at the Tennessee Cancer Specialist in Harrogate.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Zach Lloyd officiating.  Family and friends will meet at Martin Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 9:15 AM to go in funeral procession to Fincastle Cemetery for an 10:00 AM internment.
