Grover Housley Obituary

Today we will honor a shining star whose light burned out way to soon.

His devotion to his family and his love of his heavenly Father gave him strength to fight a courageous battle till the end.

Grover had a big life and a big heart. One where he had an impact on so many of, kindness, humility, giving and most of all LOVE! He loved the Lord and no doubt of where he is. I’m sure his mother and dad are happy to see their baby boy.

He certainly will be missed by his wife and soul mate, Teresa of 38 years. The light of his life, daughter Cheyenne. One of the greatest days of his life was when he held his baby girls’ baby, Slade. He sure loved that little girl, and she loves her Pap. Son in law Chris Fustos and hunting buddy.

This man loved and was loved. A life so wonderfully lived deserves to be wonderfully remembered.

He claimed this verse:

Proverbs 18:24- A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who stays closer than a brother.

To have a friend, you must be a friend. He lived this every single day.

Grover Housley of LaFollette, TN. Age 60 passed away on March 13, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and best friends who were like family. He loved hunting, and mowing the farm, and spending time in the outdoors. Time with his granddaughter was particularly special, he loved watching her having the time of her life at whatever she was doing. He followed in the footsteps of his papaw, Bill Housley in serving on the cemetery committee board and he took great pride in the care of Baker’s Forge cemetery.

Grover is preceded in death by Grandparents: Het and Bill Housley, Birch and Sarah Heatherly. Parents: Pearl and Bob Housley, Brother Gordon Housely, Mother-in-law, Re Ettia Bowlin, brother-in-law, Michael Adams, Sister-in-law, Joy Housley, Best Friend’s Ray Ivey and Mike Goins.

Survived by wife, Teresa Bowlin Housley, daughter; Cheyenne Housley Fustos and husband Chris.

Granddaughter: Slade Fustos, Sister: Wilma Adams, Brother: Edgar Housley, Father-in-law: Virgil Bowlin, Dustin Norman, who he called a son, and a host of other family members and friends.

A special thanks to best friends, Larry and Robin Bolton, Bert Cole, Jeff Wilson, and Mike Carroll for all the help and visits of making his last days a little happier and easier. His best friends Don and Brenda Irick who he talked to daily. The Rose Family of Maysville, Ky. To all the men who worked for him who called him “DAD”.

The family would like to express their appreciation for all the caregivers who have lovingly helped care for Grover during the past several weeks.
