Novella Morton Wynn

Novella Morton Wynn, age 96 of LaFollette, TN passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at LaFollette Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Wynn was the oldest living member of Demory Baptist Church in LaFollette prior to her heavenly home going.

Preceded in death by husband Percy “Louis” Wynn, son Kenneth Wynn, parents E.L. and Jane Morton, sisters Josie Belle Overbey, Adele Morton, Maureen Shoun, Sara Buckner, Vermon Morton, Helen Bullock Grant, Delphia Eldridge, and Wilma Allen, brothers Albert Morton and George Franklin Morton, 3 nieces, and 2 nephews, including special nephew Calvin Morton.

Survived by daughter June (Stan) Hahn, granddaughters Terry Releford, Pamela Dotson, Barbara (Ronald) Anderson and grandson Stanford “Butch” Hahn, Jr, several great-grandchildren, brother Robert (Lani) Morton, 4 generations of nieces and nephews, including special nephew Edward (Vijaya) Morton, special nieces Debbie Carter and Tanya Walden and good buddy Canaan Walden.

Novella’s life took her to many places. First off Knoxville, TN where she became a beautician and worked for several years. In Knoxville she eventually met and married Louis Wynn. Together they started Economy Sign Company and ultimately moved the company to Nashville, TN expanding into a very successful business. In due course, they sold the business and enjoyed many years of oceanside semi-retirement in Daytona, Florida. The couple eventually returned to Tennessee, dividing their time between Nashville and East Tennessee where they spent many active years enjoying family and friends.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 6 to 8 PM before 8 PM Funeral Service with Rev Danny Wilson officiating at Martin Wilson Funeral Home LaFollette. Internment Wednesday 10 AM, meet at 9:30 AM at Martin Wilson for procession to the Pond Cemetery. Masks required for all services.

It was Novella’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Pond Cemetery Fund, c/o Edna Wright, 414 Church Rd, LaFollette, TN 37766.

The family has entrusted the care of Novella Wynn to Martin Wilson Funeral Home “Where Families Matter Most.”
