Ruth Trammell

Ruth Trammell, age 78 of Jacksboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Turkey Creek Medical Center. She was born on May 1, 1942 to the late Russell Sexton and Dora (Douglas) Sexton. She was a member of Bearwallow Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed reading, gardening, and Tennessee Football. She especially loved spending time with her grandbabies and great grandbabies.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Elbert Lee Trammell, son Eddie Trammell, and grandson Austin Trammell.

She is survived by daughters Dorothy Franklin of Jacksboro and Dora Adkins and husband Joe of Rocky Top; brother Buford Sexton and wife Sharon of Oneida; sister Rita Lawson and husband Glenn of Ohio; grandchildren Shannon, Amanda, Haley, Jenny, Cody, and Taylor; very loving great grandchildren Madison, Raegan, Kaydon, Kamdon, Heidi, Callie, Chloe, Eli, and Hayden; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may stop by Martin Wilson Funeral Home at their convenience on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at New Canaan Cemetery on Sunday, February 14, 2021 for a 2:00 PM graveside service with Rev. Jerry Foust officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Ruth Trammell  to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
