Sylvia Jean Goins

Sylvia Jean Goins, age 73 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at U.T. Medical Center. She was born November 13, 1948 to the late Kelly and Ruby (Roach) Lynch. She enjoyed drawing, traveling, and going on vacation, spending time with her family, especially the family reunions. She especially enjoyed her dog Tadpole and being a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Slyvia retired from the Social Security Administration as a paralegal after 30 years of service.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Lavoy Lynch and special aunt Nettie Roach.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years John Goins of Knoxville; special aunts Geraldine Burton and Rosie Gibson; special uncle John Lynch and wife Lucille; special friend Joan Ellison; and several cousins, family members, and friends that she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 10:00-12:00 PM at Martin Wilson Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at 12:15 PM at Powell Valley Cemetery with Rev. Mike Smith officiating.
