I wanted to share a memory that my mother (Lona) shared with me. As Mom got older, she talked more and more about her childhood. She told me about a time when her, Bethania, and Sampson found some dead rats. Maybe the barn cats had gotten them, I' m not sure. Bethania insisted on having a funeral for the rats. Mom and Uncle Sampson had to be the mourners. Aunt Bethania preached the service while Mom and Sampson cried. Mom would still laugh about it when she told this story. I wish that Mom and Bethania could have spent some time together in their golden years to share these kind of memories. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you say goodbye to your mother and grandmother. Not a day goes by that I don't think about and miss my mom. With much love,Julie (Lona's youngest daughter)
