Chief Warrant Officer 3 Thomas Chadwell, United States Army (Retired) departed this life on Wednesday, March 19th, 2014. Tommy served in the Army from May 1955 - October 1984 where he retired as a Physicians Assistant. He served three tours in Germany, 2 tours in Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam. Tommy was an avid traveler and loved photography. He loved to cook and to eat a variety of different foods. During his retirement, he began studying genealogy and was a contributor of historic pictures to several organizations and groups.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas H. Chadwell; mother Johnnie Chadwell Petitt; brothers Freeman, Leonard, and Glenn Chadwell; son-in-law Barry Forsyth; and grandchildren Christopher Ayers, Jennifer Chadwell and Nicholas Haskett.

He is survived by his wife Thelma Jean Chadwell of Jacksboro, the mother of his three daughters Fredia Chadwell of Jacksboro; his second mother Hope Jordan; son Thomas Kleinhans and wife Teresa of Washington State; daughters Sheila Sheckles and husband Danny of Jacksboro, Joyce Reese and husband Robert of Pioneer, Felicia Baird of Lake City and Rebecca Bolton and husband Jeff of LaFollette; brothers Paul Chadwell and wife Pauletta of Knoxville, Ralph Chadwell and wife Joy of Winston Salem, NC, Albert Chadwell, Garry Chadwell and wife Ruth of LaFollette and Russell Petitt and wife Chris of LaFollette; sister Freda Hendon and husband Bill of LaFollette; grandchildren Travis, Matthew, Joseph, Kelsey, Dakota, Kaitlynn, Holly, Gabe and Koby; 6 great grandchildren; very special nephew Brian Chadwell; multiple nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 in the Martin Wilson Chapel. Funeral service will follow the visitation with Rev. Jerome McCullah officiating. Interment with be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 at Bakers Forge Cemetery with the Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of graveside services.
